Azure Vault is a challenging raid instance in WoW, and tackling it on Mythic difficulty requires a solid strategy and coordination. The instance is designed for 10 players and consists of 3 wings, each with its own unique mechanics and bosses.
To start, you'll want to familiarize yourself with the raid's layout and the roles of each player. The tank will need to manage adds and keep the boss's attention, while the healers will focus on keeping the team alive. The DPS players will then work together to take down the bosses.
In the first wing, you'll encounter the Azure Serpent, a massive dragon that can breathe fire and has a tendency to knock players back with its tail. To defeat it, your team will need to position themselves carefully and use cooldowns to minimize the damage taken.
Profession Bonuses
Profession Bonuses in The Azure Vault are a great way to gain an edge in this challenging dungeon.
To activate the Inscription profession bonus, one of your team members must have at least 25 skills in Dragon Isles Inscription.
Alternatively, you can have a Dracthyr in your party to activate the bonus. Dracthyrs are special creatures that can be found throughout the dungeon.
There are also 2 Tome of Transmogrification throughout the dungeon, which can be used to gain a Reverse Trap buff.
Using your Extra Action Button will trigger the effect of the Tome, and you'll gain a Reverse Trap buff lasting for 2 minutes.
However, keep in mind that there's only one charge of the buff, and only one member of your team can get it.
The Reverse Trap buff works similarly to the Polymorph Circles located around the area leading towards Azureblade.
To use it, cast it on an untriggered "trap" on the ground, let the mobs inside, and upon triggering it will crowd-control them.
But be aware that it's uncertain how much damage exactly you need to do to the mobs for the effect to break, and the target cap is also unknown.

Bonus Auras and Obtaining Them
As you progress through the Azure Vault, you'll have the opportunity to obtain bonus auras that can give you an edge in combat.
These auras are obtained by using the Book of Translocation after defeating the first boss, Leymor. You'll get one of the floor-buffs: Scornful Haste, Viscous Toads, Sluggish Adoration, Shrinking Form, or Hardening Scales.
Each aura has a unique effect that lasts for 1 minute. It's worth noting that receiving a buff is not guaranteed, and they only work in the Upper Chamber area, before reaching Azureblade.
Here are the effects of each aura:
Keep in mind that Scornful Haste can be tricky to manage, as enemies within the 10-yard radius will gain 30% Haste, while party members will gain 15% Haste. Be sure to keep enemies out of the circle to maximize its effect.
Fight
The fight against Umbrelskul is a challenging one, but with the right strategies, you can come out on top.
To start, make sure to dispel the tank after the boss's Dragon Strike goes out.
Healers, be on the lookout for the Crackling Vortexes that spawn at 100 energy - these orbs deal massive damage and can be avoided by rotating to a different part of the room.
Everyone needs to be aware of the random target line attack, Crystalline Roar, and sidestep it to avoid taking unnecessary damage.
Occasionally, the boss will unleash a big party hit and knockback in Unleashed Destruction, so use a defensive if needed and avoid getting pushed into a Crackling Vortex.
At specific health thresholds, the boss will spawn Detonating Crystals that need to be killed before they complete their Fracture cast - focus down the hardened crystal with Crystallize first.
Route and Enemies
To navigate the Azure Vault mythic route, you'll want to start by triggering the Shrieking Whelp cast in the first room, allowing you to fight the Crystal Fury mobs and Conjured Lashers.
The first boss, Leymor, can be defeated by clearing a path to the balcony and jumping down to round up the Arcane Tender mobs, which will spawn the boss on their death.
To reach the top ring before Azureblades room, you'll need to trigger another pack of Shrieking Whelps and use the book to travel up, then jump down from the top platform to the balcony of Azureblades room, using abilities like Slowfall or Levitate to survive the fall.
Some popular MDT routes include the PuG Freeze-Fest, which is geared towards casual crews, and the MDI Ice Sprint, which is designed for elite runners who want to hit movement speeds and smash through on heroic or mythic difficulty.
Here are some key routes to consider:
Route
You're looking to tackle the Azure Vault, but not sure which route to take? Well, you're in luck because there are several routes to choose from, each with its own unique flavor.

The PuG Freeze-Fest route is perfect for casual crews who want a laid-back run. This route involves sliding past icy traps and blasting through frost with some crowd control on the side.
If you're an elite runner, you might want to try the MDI Ice Sprint route, which is all about hitting those movement speeds and smashing through on heroic or mythic difficulty.
Each week throws you a curveball of arcane and frost with the Weekly Wonders route, which mixes up your run with unique challenges. Expect to slide on frozen ground, dodge mage hunter's fervor, and unleash some major healing cooldowns.
The Overkill Chill route is for power players who want to go big or go home. This route involves a full-on arcane assault with damage dealers going ham.
Here are some of the routes you can take:
Remember to share your route with your teammates before you start, especially if you're taking a weird or specific route.
Notable Trash Before
As you journey towards the second boss, Azureblade, you'll encounter some challenging trash mobs. Be sure to avoid aggroing the additional Shrieking Whelps, as this will trigger the Crystal Fury and Crystal Thrasher enemies.
You may receive two buffs after using the first Book of Translocation, which can help speed up the rest of the trash in the dungeon. Keep an eye out for circles on the ground, as they'll activate and polymorph you for 20 seconds if you step on them.
Here's a rundown of the notable trash mobs you'll encounter before Azureblade:
- Interrupt the Arcane Bolt from the Arcane Elemental, and save an interrupt for Waking Bane as it sleeps you.
- Sidestep the Forbidden Knowledge cast from Unstable Curator, or risk being disoriented and killed.
- Rune Seal Keeper has two abilities to stop: Condensed Frost and Icy Bindings. Use immunities or root-clearing effects to clear Icy Bindings.
- Arcane Construct will periodically cast Arcane Bash, which can knock you off the platform. Stay in the middle!
- Astral Attendant is a must-watch, as Unstable Power can be lethal when combined with other effects.
- Vault Guard is a tank-buster trash mob. Use active mitigation when it casts Ice Cutter.
- Scalebane Lieutenant has a tank-buster ability called Ice Cutter, and a Mage Hunter's Fervor aura that increases damage dealt by nearby enemies.
