To add someone to your OneDrive account for collaboration, you'll need to have the OneDrive Admin role or be the account owner. This will give you the necessary permissions to manage users and permissions.

First, sign in to your OneDrive account and click on the gear icon to access the Settings. From there, select "Active users" to view the list of users on your account.

You can then click on the "Add user" button to start the process of adding a new user to your account.

Granting Access

To grant access to your OneDrive account, you can use the SharePoint Admin Center or PowerShell.

First, log into the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and select SharePoint under Admin Centers.

You can also find your SharePoint site URL by going to the 365 Admin center and clicking on SharePoint, it should be your domainname-sharepoint.com.

To give access to another user, you'll need to find their profile in the SharePoint Admin Center. Type in the name of the employee you want to give access to, such as ABC User.

Once you've found their profile, type in the name of the person you want to give access to, such as Jack Ackles, in the Site Collection Administrators field.

Alternatively, you can use PowerShell to grant access by installing the SharePoint Online Management Shell and running the command to install the module.

Next, use the Set-SPOUser cmdlet to give access to the other user's OneDrive, such as giving Jack Ackles access to ABC User's OneDrive.

Sharing Options

Sharing options in OneDrive for Business are flexible and secure, allowing you to control who can access your files.

You can choose from four sharing options: Anyone with a link, People in the University of Kansas, People with existing access, and People you choose.

The Anyone with a link option gives access to anyone who receives the link, whether they receive it directly from you or forwarded from someone else. This includes people outside of KU.

The People in the University of Kansas option allows anyone at KU who receives the link to open the file, whether you send it or it was shared by others.

The People with existing access option allows people who already have access to the document or folder to open it.

Here's a summary of the sharing options:

The People you choose option allows you to share with internal and external to KU, and even if people forward the sharing invitation, only the people you sent the file to will be able to open it.
