The game was initially released with a free download for the spin-off game, Mighty Gunvolt, for players who purchased it upon release.

Inti Creates later released an update for the game on March 5, 2015 on the Nintendo eShop, which fixed typos in the game's dialogue and various glitches.

The update also added the ability to transfer save data from the demo version to the purchased version, and introduced new features exclusive to the New Nintendo 3DS.
